TIP F 1740 Replacement of the “Desch” Clutch to a Servo Motor

TIP F 1740 Replacement of “Desch” Clutch to Servo Motor

Machine Model for Improvement

All Jagenberg Sheeters

Description of Improvement

Over time, after years of intensive daily, around the clock production, the “Desch” clutch wears out or will breakdown in case of a defect. This technology contains a lot of mechanical parts which require a high maintenance effort.

This upgrade from the Technical Improvement Program (TIP) replaces the obsolete “Desch” clutch with a servo drive in the overlapping section.

The servo motor will be mounted directly on the shaft extension of the driving roll in the overlapping section. It is maintenance-free and increases the reliability of the sheeter as there are less mechanical parts used. This results in a more constant paper infeed to the stacker (layboy).

Benefits

  • Spare parts availability and latest technology
  • The new drive is maintenance-free
  • Using standard components
