Machine Model for Improvement

Pemco packaging machine Model 32, 33, 34, 34HS, 37, 37HS, 38, 39S

Description of Improvement

This upgrade is part of the Technical Improvement Program (TIP); it replaces the existing rotary shear assembly with a guillotine shear assembly.

This new assembly consists of a top fixed blade and a bottom moving blade. The bottom blade moves up using a double cam, one on each side, connecting with a shaft to ensure equal movement during the cut. The top and bottom blades are identical and made of hardened steel with dual usable faces. The blades are reusable and can be reground as needed. The top blade is spring loaded.

The upgrade will require software changes to the PLC and the touch screen.

Benefits

  • Improves cutting capability on thinner materials
  • Modular design reduces knife replacement time
  • Blades are reusable and can be reground
