Machine Model for Improvement

Pemco packaging machine Model 32, 33, 34, 34HS, 37, 37HS, 38

Description of Improvement

This upgrade is part of the Technical Improvement Program (TIP); it consists of adding the current style vacuum choke bars to the machine.

The vacuum choke bars significantly help control the wrapping material in the folding sequence, especially when running poly; as a result better looking and tighter reams are produced. A single vacuum generator is used per choke bar for better vacuum and easier maintenance. These latest vacuum generators include a gauge that indicates the amount of vacuum generated per unit. Also, individual regulators, one per choke bar, can be used if different amount of air pressure is needed for a given product. These regulators are available to the operators while the machine is in production with a specially designed guard door. This will allow operators to see the results of changes while the reams are being wrapped.

The touch screen gives the operator the option of enabling or disabling this feature. Also, the timing can be modified on the touch screen behind the password. The controller has the build-in logic to incorporate the speed compensation in order to maintain consistent activation of the vacuum.

Benefits

  • Better ream quality and tighter packages
  • Separate and independent vacuum adjustments per choke bar
  • Easier vacuum generator access outside of the machine
