Description of Improvement

Critical components for the PLC machine control are obsolete and spare parts are no longer available. If any of these components should fail or break, extensive sheeter downtime and costly production loss would result.

This upgrade converts the PLC machine control, regardless of make and type, to a state-of-the-art Siemens S7 machine control. All components, such as the CPU and I/O cards, are replaced. The availability of spare parts for this new S7 system is ensured. A complete new rack with the new S7 components is integrated in the existing electrical cabinet.

The new S7 machine control allows trouble-free communication with others systems and is therefore a prerequisite for future upgrades.
