Description of Improvement

This upgrade is part of the Technical Improvement Program (TIP); it is designed to replace the current vacuum belts with new timing belt style vacuum belts.

This new design requires the existing transfer servo motor to be relocated to the opposite side of shear (this may already be the case in some machines). As a result the sheets will be pulled into the machine instead of being pushed.

Benefits

  • Significantly reduced glue build up as a result of no back bending and reduced number of rollers
  • Timing belt reduces wrap skew by taking away the diameter factor of the knurled drive roll
  • No back bending coupled with low tension means longer belt life
